In addition, we see our internal training programs as an opportunity to properly train our specialists and executives for the future and to prepare them for future assignments. We provide training for the following occupations:
- Office Clerk (Klöckner Stahl- und Metallhandel GmbH)
Here, you will become acquainted with the following departments: Logistics, Marketing/Sales, Human Resources, Centralized Purchasing, Administration and Controlling.
- Wholesaler/Foreign Trade Specialist (Klöckner Stahl- und Metallhandel GmbH/branch offices)
The training is focused on wholesaling, so you will be rotated through various Marketing/Sales departments, the warehouse and various product departments. In addition, various branch offices offer in-house training, plant visits, lecture series, training programs, and seminars.
- Warehouse Logistics Specialist
Since 2004, the German branch’s warehouses have trained: Warehouse Logistics Specialists.
The training is held primarily in the warehouse, in the receiving area, in the shipping office and in the logistics area. Our trainees learn about the clerical operations required for materials requirements planning (Disposition), order-picking (Kommissionieren) and logistical processes. In the warehouse, trainees learn how to inspect/accept, process, pack, load, and transport goods.
As in other commercial occupations, the knowledge and skills taught here include the core qualifications from the fields of human resources, vocational education, environmental protection, occupational health and safety and business management and control.
In addition, the training also teaches specialized skills, such as how to use tools, how to handle goods, and warehousing processes.
The warehouse training program requires:
- Being good with figures
- An interest in technical and business issues
- Computer skills
- Physical stamina
