Diversity & Equal Opportunity

In order to be able to operate successfully and offer secure and interesting jobs over the long term in an increasingly globalized economy, we must understand and implement the term "diversity".

We are represented in 250 locations in 15 countries and have 178,000 active customers. In order to be able to carry out their wishes successfully and to their satisfaction, our workforce must mirror the diversity of our customer base. Diversity is therefore particularly important to us as an international Group of companies whose customers represent a wide variety of small and medium-sized businesses.

In the countries where we operate, our constant focus must be on offering all employees the best possible opportunities for further development and offering ideal starting opportunities to new employees. This includes strictly following existing legal and country-specific rules and regulations.

Our Company places particular value on training and continuing education. In countries that have adopted a dual training system, we consistently sponsor young women and men. In countries without a dual training system, we use our Company’s own training centers to offer all employees ideal starting opportunities of facing professional challenges.

Even though steel distribution has traditionally been dominated by men, Klöckner & Co is strongly committed to increasing the percentage of women at every organizational level and offering attractive career opportunities to women. Nevertheless, even greater efforts will be required in order to attract more female applicants to the steel industry.
